Sicily Atelier is an occasionwear label for women who have stopped compromising on fit.
Most of what is easy to find online is cut for one body and one age, and everything else is an afterthought — the same dress graded up a few sizes with no thought given to how it actually hangs. We start from the other end. Every piece is chosen for how it sits on a real shoulder, where the waist lands, and whether the length still works when you sit down.
What we look for
Cut first. A good silhouette does more than any amount of embellishment, and it is the thing most often got wrong. Sleeves that cover without clinging. Necklines that sit where you want them. Lengths that behave.
Then fabric, judged against the weather it will actually be worn in. Linen, cotton and breathable blends, because an Australian wedding in February is not the same as a European one. Colours that hold up under hard afternoon light rather than washing out in photographs.
We would rather carry one considered piece in a shape than four variations of it.
Sizing
We stock XS through to 6XL, and our size guides are published on every product page with measurements for that specific garment in Australian sizing.
We publish them because occasionwear is the category people most often get wrong online, and a guide that says nothing more than S, M, L is not much help. Measure something you already own and love, compare it to the guide, and buy the size the numbers point to rather than the size you usually take. Cuts vary between styles — ours included.
Getting it right
We are a small team and we read every message that comes in. If a piece is not right — the fit, the fabric, anything — tell us. We would far rather sort it out than have you keep something you do not reach for.
